Soundpainting

<< Back

Soundpainting is a multidisciplinary sign language created in 1974 by New York based composer Walter Thompson. It is used by musicians, dancers, actors and other artists. To this day, a collection of more than 1300 different hand-signes can be used by a “conductor” to lead a group in their performance. Each real-time created composition is based on the partly improvised ideas offered by the participants.
